Senate walls are not a shield.

The International Criminal Court confirmed that it issued an arrest warrant for Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, former Philippine National Police chief under Rodrigo Duterte's drug war.

Philippine and international outlets report that dela Rosa returned to the Senate, was pursued by National Bureau of Investigation agents, and was placed under Senate protective custody after the ICC warrant became public.

This campaign demands lawful enforcement, not mob punishment. Arrest him, surrender him to the ICC, and let survivors, families, prosecutors, and defense counsel meet in court.

The warrant exists

The ICC confirmed on May 11, 2026 that an arrest warrant against Ronald Marapon dela Rosa was issued confidentially under seal on November 6, 2025.

The charge is grave

Reports say the warrant concerns alleged crimes against humanity, including murders tied to the drug war while he led the Philippine National Police.

No office, title, or political alliance should shield a suspect in alleged crimes against humanity from lawful arrest and trial.
